About

I am a pilot with one of Canada's major airlines. I discovered the world of value investing after reading "One Up On Wall Street" by Peter Lynch in the mid to late 1990's. Lynch, the much celebrated investor, often quoted another investor that I had not heard of before. His name was Warren Buffett. It didn't take very long after reading about Buffett, that I realized I had finally seen the "light". I immediately identified with the ideas and concepts of value investing. I think value investing is something you either identify with right away or you don't. It was clear that value investing was a common sense - low risk way to grow money. I decided that I should learn as much as possible about investing if I was to be a successful investor. In 1999, I completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and the Canadian Investment Manager (CIM, 2006) programs at the Canadian Securities Institute in Toronto. Although, the best education has been reading a lot of 10K's and 10Q's and studying successful value investors. I decided to launch an investment club in the mid 2000's to gather a group of like-minded people to invest with a value framework. We have been able to beat the market on a long term basis.

On another note, I enjoy spending time with my family. I also enjoy a few sports like golf, fishing, squash and skiing.
